Myopia is a refractive error in which light rays fall into focus in front of the retina. Nearsighted people cannot see distant objects clearly, but they can see relatively well at close range. A sign of myopia is, therefore, the inability to clearly see distant objects, such as, for example, watching TV. Exercises for myopia are done on a daily basis, and the exercises themselves take up to 2 minutes. Dr. William Bates said that short-sightedness was caused by mental exertion. He specifically referred to the strain of the oblique muscles that form a belt around the eyeball.
