Years of experience

According to dr. Bates, if a person uses glasses, he will not improve vision, but on the contrary, there may be a deterioration of vision and the use of thicker glasses prescribed by the doctor

One of the assumptions of dr. Bates' thesis was that visual acuity varies depending on a person's physical and emotional state

  • Bad habits related to the use of the eyes are closely related to their tension and stress.
  • Dr. Bates found that relaxation techniques could reduce stress.
  • The use of relaxation methods directly leads to improved vision.

In 1903, he discovered a simple technique that can prevent the development of myopia in most children. In 1920, he introduced the aforementioned technique into the school system in New York and managed to reduce the incidence of myopia by 70% in the first year.

Vision problems

which are successfully solved by exercises are:

Myopia is a refractive error in which light rays fall into focus in front of the retina.

Nearsighted people cannot see distant objects clearly, but they can see relatively well at close range

  • A sign of myopia is, therefore, the inability to clearly see distant objects, such as, for example, watching TV.
  • Exercises for myopia are done on a daily basis, and the exercises themselves take up to 2 minutes
  • Dr. William Bates said that short-sightedness was caused by mental exertion. He specifically referred to the strain of the oblique muscles that form a belt around the eyeball.

Myopia usually occurs during the school years when you start to realize that you have a hard time seeing what is written on the blackboard. It's something you can deal with at first, but the problem gets bigger over time, you are soon tested and given glasses. However, once you start wearing glasses, your nearsightedness tends to get worse, so you need stronger correction over time to see well. So there comes a time when you wear glasses in all situations, even when you can see things perfectly well without them.

Farsightedness is a condition in which a person, regardless of age, has difficulty focusing objects that are close to the eyes.

Light rays entering the eye are not focused on the retina, but behind it.

This causes nearby objects to be blurry or blurry.

  • If the diopter in the plus is greater, the more effort the eyes need to maintain focus at near.
  • There is an exercise that aims to bring the point of clear vision closer to about 20 cm distance from the eyes.

When the cornea is not perfectly rounded, but is curved, like a rugby ball, or is curved in the wrong direction, astigmatism occurs.

The light rays that pass through the cornea are not focused in one clear point on the retina of the eye, but are scattered. Astigmatism involves the release of tension in the muscles surrounding the eye.

Strabismus is a condition that is characterized by a disturbance of oculomotor balance, that is, two eyes do not have the same direction of gaze when observing an object.

  • One eye has a normal position while the other eye is either turned inward or turned outward.
  • In the first case it is about esotropia or convergent strabismus, and in the second it is about exotropia or divergent strabismus.
  • Also the eye can be turned upwards and in that case we are talking about hypertropia, and if the eye is turned down, hypotropia.
  • There is 1 exercise to solve the problem of strabismus, and it achieves normal eye coordination.
